Paul George is no longer a Los Angeles Clipper.

The nine-time All-Star signed a massive four-year contract with the Philadelphia 76ers worth $212 million earlier this offseason.

NBA insider Rachel Nichols recently gave her take on how the Clippers handled contract talks with George.

“I see their logic, but why not make this decision earlier in the season and get something for him,” Nichols stated on Fox Sports’s Undisputed.

Nichols makes a very good point here.

George ended up being the winner by going to a weaker conference and earning a massive contract from a team that could contend for a title.

As good of a player as Kawhi Leonard is, he is 33 and has never played in more than 74 games in a season.

He is a superstar but an aging one at that.

James Harden and Russell Westbrook are aging as well.

The Clippers are now worse off while George got the deal that he wanted and could very well be heading to play for a better team in the Sixers.

The Clippers can be a playoff team next year, but it is hard to see beyond that.
