There is no question that Team USA is incredibly strong this year and could win a gold medal at the upcoming Paris Olympics.
However, these are questions about who will lead the team years down the line in the future.
On Tuesday’s episode of “Herd W/Colin Cowherd,” Danny Parkins predicted that 17-year-old basketball phenom Cooper Flagg could be the future of the team.
Like many others, he has been blown away by what Flagg has done during scrimmage matches against Team USA and thinks he truly is as special as some people think.
.@DannyParkins: Cooper Flagg might be the future face of Team USA basketball.
“In the NFL, we had ‘Tank for Trevor,’ ‘Suck for Luck’… Capture the Flagg! That’s what Nets fans, Spurs Fans, Pistons Fans, you’re going to be trying to capture the Flagg with this tanking.” pic.twitter.com/4AEror8qUe

Flagg stole the show during a scrimmage featuring him and some of the biggest stars in the NBA.
Playing with the Select Team, Flagg outplayed icons like Anthony Davis, Bam Adebayo, and others.
He showed just how talented he is and earned dozens of headlines for his masterful work.
Flagg is committed to Duke and has a goal of playing for Team USA in the 2027 World Cup.
Until then, he will just get better and better.
There is no doubt that Flagg is the predicted No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft and his appearance with Team USA only solidified that.
He is the first college player to participate in a Team USA training camp in over a decade, which shows just how much the coaching staff believes in him.
They have every reason to.
The current Team USA roster is aged, with stars like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Steph Curry likely participating in their last Olympics.
There are younger players in the group, such as Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and more, but they will need help in the years ahead.
Flagg had fun playing with the team but it’s clear now that he was also auditioning for it.
