Derrick White is heading to Paris.
Shortly after Team USA announced that Kawhi Leonard would not participate in the 2024 Olympics because of an injury, it was announced by Marc J. Spears and others that the Boston Celtics star would replace him.
White just earned his first championship title a few weeks ago but will now join LeBron James, Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Kevin Durant, and two teammates in the Paris games.

White is coming off of his best season ever.
He averaged 15.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, posting 46.1% from the field and 39.6% from the three-point line.
White is known as a great offensive threat but also a strong defender too.
He will bring his deep talents and skills to Paris, marking his first appearance in the Olympics.
White, however, has a history with Team USA and was a finalist to make the Olympics back in 2020.
He also participated in the World Cup in 2019.
This news means he will get more time with his teammates Jayson Tatum and Jrue Holiday, who have been part of Team USA for months.
The Celtics now have three stars in the lineup, which proves just how powerful and dominant that team is.
White only has a short amount of time to prepare for the Olympics.
Team USA got together for the first time this week, participating in practices and scrimmages in Las Vegas.
They will immediately welcome White into the fold and will help him prepare for the big games.
It’s not clear if White will be part of the starting five or will be a bench player.
After the season he’s had, it’s obvious that he will help Team USA no matter how much he plays.
