The Tennessee Titans came out of nowhere recently with their signing of 3-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams to fortify their secondary and continue their roster overhaul this offseason.

An insider has now revealed the details of Adams’ contract, and it’s looking like a wise move by Tennessee.

Analyst Ari Meirov shared on X that Adams will be on a one-year deal worth $1.125 million guaranteed, which makes this a low-risk, high-reward signing by the Titans who will be hoping that Adams will be rejuvenated on a prove-it deal.

Adams has played just ten games in the past two seasons combined and hasn’t played a full season since 2018 due to a slew of injuries, and last year with the Seattle Seahawks he never looked like himself and consistently struggled in coverage.

For just a little over a million dollars, the Titans have little downside here if Adams either gets hurt or fails to produce, and it will be interesting to see how Adams is deployed under this coaching staff.

New Titans defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson was Adams’ defensive backs coach during his time with the Jets, who drafted Adams sixth overall in 2017.

Adams doesn’t have a clear path to a starting safety spot as Amani Hooker is locked in as the team’s strong safety, while Elijah Molden will likely be pivoting from slot corner to free safety this season.

Rotating Adams in and getting creative by using him to rush the passer could be on the agenda to help keep Adams healthy.

He is still just 28 years old and we’ll see if Adams has another big season in him to get to that next contract.
