The Chicago Bulls are trying to enter a rebuilding phase.

Nonetheless, that could’ve been significantly easier had they decided to part ways with their aging players when they could.

Now, it seems like it might be two trade deadlines a little too late.

That’s why it’s not much of a surprise to see that there’s no market for Nikola Vucevic, according to a report by Joe Cowley (Via NBA Central).

Vucevic drew trade interest years ago, but given his lack of defensive commitment, his big salary, and his age, that might no longer be the case.

He can clearly be a factor as a rebounder, and he has a smooth shooting touch for a big man, but he’s too much of a liability on the defensive end of the floor, particularly around the rim.

Vucevic ranked last in the league in terms of defended field goal percentage at the rim among centers last season, allowing the opposition to shoot over 65% in that scenario.

The Bulls could’ve gotten more than just Josh Giddey for Alex Caruso if they had chosen to move him earlier, with some reports stating that they could’ve even gotten a couple of first-round picks in return for his services.

The same goes for DeMar DeRozan, who wound up leaving in a sign-and-trade that didn’t get the Bulls a lot.

As for Zach LaVine, their decision to hold onto him could end up being a very costly one, as it seems like there are no takers for him now either.
