The Detroit Pistons have struggled to gain traction in the NBA for several years.
They have only appeared in the playoffs twice in the 2010s and 2020s, making it in the 2015-2016 season, as well as the 2018-2019 campaign.
Even when they did make the playoffs in those years, they were swept in both series, making for a frustrating, early exit.
With their recent lack of success in mind, the Pistons have started to build this team from the ground up, hoping their young players can represent a new beginning for this historic franchise.
Players like Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson have shown promise thus far, but the Pistons are still looking for more players to round out the team.
It’s certainly early, but Daniss Jenkins looks like he could be someone to help this team get going in the years to come.
Jenkins was undrafted, but after putting up 26 points in the Pistons’ recent Summer League game, he could be a player to watch for heading into the season.
A video shared by the NBA on Twitter highlighted what Jenkins was able to do in this game.

Like many struggling teams, the Pistons are looking for any spark plugs imaginable.
A player like Jenkins could certainly help them achieve their goals, and since he was undrafted, his contract won’t eat up a lot of the team’s cap space.
While the Pistons might have a ways to go to become relevant, there is a glimpse of hope at this point in the offseason for them to be successful next year.
