Bronny James’ time in the NBA Summer League hasn’t been explosive and many Los Angeles Lakers fans are nervous that he might not be the star they hoped for.

After another disappointing game on Monday night, Paul Pierce opened up about James on Tuesday’s “Undisputed.”

He said that James’ confidence appears to be down, which is affecting his game.

But he can get back on track and prove to everyone that he deserves a spot on the Lakers’ roster.

Pierce had advice for James: he said the young star needs to watch old tapes from his past.

James should view videos of himself playing in high school and college as a way to take note of what he did well and find inspiration and motivation.

The adjustment to playing professional basketball is obviously complicated and intimidating for James.

He isn’t playing as well as he was in college and definitely isn’t performing like he did at the NBA combine.

This could be caused by a number of things.

For starters, the pressure is surely sky-high and James is well aware of the attention and expectations swirling around him.

Secondly, it’s hard to find a healthy team dynamic in the Summer League.

But whatever the reason, James isn’t playing very well and many people are worried.

When he was drafted, there were hopes and dreams of him playing alongside his father all season long in 2024-25.

Now it seems more likely that he will spend most of his time in the G League unless he turns things around soon.

Is this a matter of confidence or skills?

Regardless, James needs to figure out what’s going wrong and fix it before the regular season begins.
