Sauce Garder entered the NFL with a lot of hype and anticipation.

He was touted as one of the best cornerback prospects in the last several years, and the New York Jets drafted him hoping he could help transform their defense.

Gardner responded in a big way, not only winning Defensive Rookie of the Year out of the gate but is also a two-time first-team All-Pro player as well.

He is well on his way to being one of the best defensive players in the league if he isn’t already mentioned in that conversation.

Despite Gardner being a menace on the field, he recently claimed on Twitter that “golf is harder than football.”

This tweet has gotten a lot of attention, both by everyday fans and members of NFL media.

The NFL on ESPN crew discussed the tweet on air, to which Booger McFarland responded, “As the resident golfer on this panel we have here today, I can tell you that golf is way harder than football. I played nine years in the National Football League on pure talent. I’ve been trying to hit the golf ball for 20 years, and I still haven’t mastered that.”

As McFarland mentioned, golf and football are two entirely different games.

Football is more about athleticism, size, and speed, while golf is about finesse, form, and consistency.

There is certainly a level of those things in football too, but if someone is extremely athletic, they could be great at football, but terrible at golf if they don’t have the right mechanics.
