The NBA Summer League is officially underway, giving fans something to be excited about during the offseason.
The Summer League is a chance for fans to watch their favorite team’s newest players, hoping to see stars being born.
While many teams have promising prospects, all eyes have been on the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Lakers have already seen a great return on their first-round pick, as Dalton Knecht, at least to this point, has shown that he is ready to make a difference in the league.
Despite Knecht’s solid numbers, the majority of the NBA media is more focused on the Lakers’ second-round pick from this year, Bronny James.
James, of course, is the son of LeBron James, and while he has a legendary name on the back of his jersey, he hasn’t played up to the expectations placed upon him.
He has been heavily criticized for his poor shooting performances, and many analysts are already ready to write him off.
However, Gilbert Arenas recently provided some perspective on James’ suboptimal start, reminding people about what Jaylen Brown did in his first three Summer League games.
Brown was recently seen courtside at a Summer League game, apparently talking negatively about James.
Arenas responded to this saying, “He [Brown] was the third pick in the NBA Draft. The first three games, just like Bronny. Bronny was 6-26, and Jaylen Brown was 5-26 in his first three games in Summer League,”

Arenas doesn’t necessarily think James’ ceiling will be what Brown has produced throughout his career, but he wanted to make it clear that just because he’s struggling now, doesn’t mean he won’t be able to make it in the NBA.
