For more than a decade, some NBA fans argued that LeBron James wasn’t good in the clutch.
Even though the numbers and the eye test debunked that myth over and over, Skip Bayless continued to share that narrative.
Bayless has been LeBron James’ biggest critic, and while he’s finally giving him some credit lately, he’s had some pretty harsh things to say about him over the years.
That’s why it’s kind of bizarre to see that Bayless feels the opposite way about his son, Bronny.
Bronny hasn’t played a single minute of actual NBA basketball, yet, for some reason, Bayless has stated that he has the ‘clutch’ gene.
And now that Bronny knocked down a game-tying three-pointer in the Summer League, Bayless took to Twitter to double down on that statement:
“That corner 3 to tie was the best-looking shot Bronny has shot all Summer League. I’m telling you, kid has the clutch gene,” Bayless said.

Bayless stated that the corner three was the best look Bronny got in the entire Summer League, adding that he must definitely have the clutch gene.
Bronny had his best game yet, scoring 9 points in the first half.
He went scoreless in the second half until he knocked down that game-tying shot, finishing the game with 12 points on 5-for-11 shooting.
Those aren’t particularly eye-popping numbers, but it’s the No. 55 pick we’re talking about.
Hopefully, he’ll continue to develop his game and find his stride, riding this momentum to shake off the rocky start to his NBA career.
