The Los Angeles Lakers knew that Bronny James most likely wasn’t ready to contribute for them.
He was always expected to spend most of his rookie season with their G-League affiliate and they always knew they had to be patient with him.
Bronny just had his best performance yet, scoring 12 points on 5-for-11 from the floor after a very rough start to his NBA career.
When asked about what LeBron told him about his struggles, Bronny revealed that his father just told him to stay aggressive and keep shooting even though his shot wasn’t falling yet (via Tomer Azarly & ClutchPoints).
“[He’s telling me] stay aggressive. Even though my shot hasn’t been falling, just to stay aggressive.”

The Summer League is all about getting physically ready and getting a glimpse of what an NBA game feels like.
There are always nerves, anxiety, and some jitters, and we’ve seen countless stars struggle there.
Bronny isn’t expected to be a star by any means, and expecting that from a No. 55 pick is setting him up for failure and disappointment.
Scoring 12 points on 11 shots isn’t that impressive, either, but these games are all about improvement, development, and confidence.
Hopefully, he’s going to be able to build from this momentum and feel better about his game going forward.
He already has a roster spot, so he might as well make the most of it by actually earning his stripes and some playing time, and that will only happen if he starts knocking down shots.
