Jaime Jaquez Jr.’s first season with the Miami Heat was very promising and it looks like he is preparing for a great second season too.
According to StatMuse, Jaquez has averaged 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game during his time in the Summer League.
He has also secured a 58/43/81% shooting record during these games.
Does this mean that Heat fans are about to see a lot more of Jaquez?

During his rookie year, he posted 11.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.
He was a pleasant surprise for the Heat, who picked him as the 18th overall pick in the 2023 draft.
He ended up starting in 20 of 75 games but he might be getting a lot more time on the court in 2024-25.
Summer League is a time for young players to prove themselves and show what they can do.
Of course, there is a huge difference between the Summer League and regular season but Jaquez is definitely showing that he should be trusted more and given extra responsibilities in the months ahead.
This is good news for the Heat, who have been struggling with aging players and unfortunate injuries lately.
If they can continue to build and nurture a young roster of strong stars like Jaquez, they will be deeper and more successful.
It’s possible that Miami’s roster changes between now and the start of the season.
Pat Riley hasn’t made massive moves in some time but he may be willing to do so after a disappointing playoffs that saw the Heat exit after the first round.
That means that Jaquez could be doing more in 2024-25 and his time in the Summer League proves he can.
