Patrick Beverley is officially leaving the NBA.
Known for his pesky defense, his unapologetic nature, and his feuds with almost every opponent he ever faced, the somewhat infamous guard is taking his talents back overseas to play for Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel.
Notably, he turned down a couple of veteran minimum deals to stay in the NBA, although he would’ve had to serve a four-game suspension after getting into an altercation with Indiana Pacers fans in his final game with the Milwaukee Bucks.
In the latest edition of his podcast, he talked about how he made that decision.
He acknowledged that it was hard because of his business obligations and the fact that he was going to leave his family and children (via Barstool Sports).

Then again, from the business perspective, he thought it was a disservice not to take that opportunity after all the hard work he’s put in.
Beverley stated that they’re throwing him a bunch of money in Israel, adding that the team is willing to push the podcast and sell his merch in the arena and that he didn’t even have to negotiate for any of that.
He also claimed that he wants to play until he’s 40, and his chances of doing so in the NBA are quite slim.
It makes sense for players like him.
He’s going to make star-caliber money there, and that’s never going to be the case in the NBA, particularly at this point in his career.
