For a couple of years, NFL scouts raved about Caleb Williams, and rightfully so.

He looked like a generational prospect, with several scouts going as far as to compare him with Patrick Mahomes.

He was the undisputed and clear-cut No. 1 pick for most of the pre-draft process, and the Chicago Bears never even considered trading down.

Nonetheless, the Washington Commanders got the ultimate consolation prize.

Jayden Daniels had an outstanding season in his final year in college, and he looks like a potential superstar in the making as well.

That’s why NFL analyst Booger McFarland went out on a limb and stated that he wouldn’t be shocked if Daniels had a better rookie season than Williams.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, the renowned analyst predicted that, at some point next season, people would be wondering and talking about whether the Bears made the right decision by taking Williams instead of Daniels.

“Don’t be surprised if midway through the season, we’re having a conversation [that] … the No. 2 pick, Jayden Daniels, looks better than the No. 1 pick, Caleb Williams.”

Notably, some expressed concerns about Chicago’s cold weather and Williams, as he hasn’t been put to the test under those conditions.

Also, Daniels proved to be an elite athlete and a guy who could contribute with his feet and his arm in college, drawing comparisons to Lamar Jackson, and he’s going to play under a very creative and crafty offensive coordinator like Kliff Kingsbury.

For now, all we can do is wait and see how this situation turns out.
