NBA free agency started a couple of weeks ago and has slowed down a lot since then.
There have been some significant trades and acquisitions but things have become relatively quiet on the NBA market.
On Twitter, Evan Sidery pointed out that the market has “cratered” and now “most players who were hoping for solid paydays will now likely have to settle for prove-it deals on the veteran’s minimum.”
He listed the best available free agents, highlighting Tyus Jones, Markelle Fultz, Isaac Okoro, Lonnie Walker, and Luke Kennard.
He also mentioned Precious Achiuwa, Spencer Dinwiddie, Gordon Hayward, and others.
There are plenty of free agents ready to be signed but will any teams take a chance on them?
The market has cratered over two weeks into free agency.
Most players who were hoping for solid paydays will now likely have to settle for prove-it deals on the veteran’s minimum.
Contending teams could find solid value with the best available remaining:

A lot of these players will eventually sign deals, either with the teams they just played for or different franchises.
But it’s unlikely that any of them will be given blockbuster deals that shock the NBA world.
Free agency usually starts with a bang and then gradually tapers off.
The big deals happen at the beginning and then things settle down and remain mostly quiet throughout the rest of the summer.
That is definitely what happened this year but it’s surprising to see so many names still on the market, waiting for teams to acquire them.
Jones is probably the most talked-about free agent.
He last played for the Washington Wizards and averaged 12 points and 7.3 assists per game.
Those are good numbers but the current free agent market suggests he won’t get a massive contract.
In fact, no one on this list is going to receive an eye-popping deal and some of them will be lucky to play at all.
