Over the past three seasons, Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals has quickly become one of the best wide receivers in the NFL, putting up numbers that have rivaled those of any other wideout.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants have only been able to dream of having a wideout who is on the level of Chase in recent seasons.

This April, however, they had the good fortune of being able to nab Malik Nabers, a star WR from Louisiana State University, with the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

New Giants teammate Darius Slayton said that Nabers reminds him of Chase, as the two have similar body types and movements, per NFL on ESPN.

“It’s like a clone,” Slayton said in comparing the two.

Nabers had 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns last season at LSU, and he was a unanimous All-American while earning a spot on the All-SEC First Team.

At 6-foot, 201 pounds, he has decent size for the wide receiver position in the NFL, and at the NFL Scouting Combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.35 seconds.

If Nabers pans out, he will give New York something they have desperately needed for years: a legitimate threat in their passing game.

Such a threat, in the minds of some, is also what quarterback Daniel Jones needs in order to put up decent numbers.

He hasn’t thrown more than 15 touchdown passes in a season since he was a rookie, and there has been talk the Giants want to move on from him.

They could’ve gone with a QB in this year’s draft but instead decided to help out Jones by selecting Nabers.
