Expectations were high for Alex Sarr when he was selected as the No. 2 pick in last month’s draft by the Washington Wizards.
He may end up being a great NBA star but he was looking rough on Thursday night.
During his team’s Summer League against the Sacramento Kings, Sarr scored only 2 points, going 1-of-6 from the field, according to Hoop Central.
He earned 11 rebounds, which is an impressive number, but his lack of points has a lot of people talking.
Following the game, many fans were concerned about what was ahead for Sarr.

Plenty of people immediately ragged on Sarr, referring to him as a bust and saying he doesn’t have a bright future in the league.
The negative reviews flooded in all night long, especially because Sarr had a bad game just a few days before, missing all 15 of his field goal attempts when playing against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Lord have mercy..

But other people found reasons to celebrate Sarr, pointing out that his 11 rebounds were very special.
If he can find his shot before the regular season starts, he could be a great two-way player, people said.
Rebounding machine!!

Others urged caution, reminding people that Summer League performances aren’t a great way to judge a new player.
Just because he is having trouble in the Summer League doesn’t mean he’ll be a disaster when the regular season kicks off.
It is summer league. We’ll wait and see what he can do in the actual season.

There is a reason that the Wizards picked Sarr so high in the draft and they obviously have a lot of faith in him.
Sarr’s time in the Summer League has been troubling but that doesn’t mean he can’t turn things around before the season starts in the fall.
