The Charlotte Hornets turned heads recently when they decided to re-sign Miles Bridges to a three-year, $75 million deal.

Some people questioned the wisdom of keeping Bridges, especially considering his past, but his teammate is very happy the deal was made.

Speaking to Michael Scotto, per NBACentral, Brandon Miller said that everyone is pleased to see Bridges coming back.

“I think that was a great thing for us having him back. He’s a veteran, and everyone loves him like a brother off the court. I think it’s going to be a great year this year,” Miller said.

The re-signing of Bridges shocked some because he has been bogged down in controversy over the last several seasons.

He missed an entire season because of domestic violence charges and that has left many Hornets fans uncomfortable with him.

But during his time on the court, Bridges has averaged 21 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.

Setting aside his legal problems, Bridges is obviously a talented player but he hasn’t helped the Hornets enough and they haven’t reached the playoffs since 2016.

Charlotte has a lot of problems and they need to make significant changes, which makes the re-signing of Bridges even more curious.

But Miller said that the entire team loves Bridges and feels he is like a brother.

That means he is helping with Charlotte’s chemistry and culture, even if he makes some fans uneasy.

The Hornets have constructed some minor tweaks over the last season and will likely commit to more soon.

Will that lead them to their first playoff appearance in years?
