The Baltimore Ravens are built to be one of the best defenses in the NFL, and that personality translates into toughness and hard hitting every Sunday.

In today’s game, a good defense must have a stalwart secondary to stymie the high-octane passing offenses featured around the league.

For the Ravens, that is a wish that should be granted in 2024.

ESPN Ravens reporter Jamison Hensley believes Baltimore will have one of the top secondaries in the NFL, and who can argue with the formidable lineup they present every weekend?

Strong safety Kyle Hamilton is a two-year veteran who elevated his game to the upper echelon of his position last year.

He was named First Team All-Pro in 2023 and reached the Pro Bowl after recording 81 tackles, four interceptions and three sacks.

The free safety is Marcus Williams, who returns to provide Baltimore with one of the best tandems in the league.

Then at the corners there’s Marlon Humphrey, a three-time Pro Bowler who is a fine performer but missed eight games last year due to injury.

His counterpart is Brandon Stephens, who is also a solid cover man.

Eddie Jackson and Nate Wiggins provide experienced depth.

The team does need to replace the production of the departed Geno Stone, who led the AFC with seven picks in 2023.

Not content with standing pat, the Ravens drafted Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins in the first round, and he brings elite athleticism and developing coverage abilities to the secondary.

In today’s passing NFL, Baltimore is as equipped as any team in the league to counter the explosive offenses they will face week in and week out.
