Key Pacers Player Will Be Eligible For Long-Term Extension On Monday

The Indiana Pacers surprised the NBA world by making an improbable run past the Milwaukee Bucks and New York Knicks to make the Eastern Conference Finals this past season, and with a young roster with its biggest stars locked up, there’s no reason to believe this team can’t continue to trend upward and make noise in the East.

Another key member of the roster becomes eligible for a long-term extension on Monday after the year he just had and is in for quite a hefty pay bump.

Forbes’ Evan Sidery shared that Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard becomes eligible on Monday to sign a four-year, $78 million extension, which Indiana plans to offer him as his rookie-scale max as a former second-round pick.

Tomorrow, Andrew Nembhard officially becomes eligible to sign a four-year, $78 million extension with the Pacers.

Indiana plans to offer their young breakout combo guard his rookie-scale max as a former second-round pick.

Nembhard stepped up in the playoffs and averaged 14.9 points per game on 56 percent shooting to go along with 5.5 assists a game as he solidified himself as a core piece of this team for years to come and a legitimate building block alongside Tyrese Haliburton.

He stepped up even more in the Conference Finals once Haliburton got hurt and averaged 21 points and 7.8 assists on 54/48/89 splits in the sweep at the hands of the Boston Celtics.

At 24 years old, Nembhard looks to be this team’s long-term solution at shooting guard after being taken in the second round in 2022 out of Gonzaga.

Interestingly enough, Nembhard shares an agent with teammate Pascal Siakam, who also received a max contract from the Pacers earlier this offseason.

Indiana is taking care of its own and building a formidable roster to compete with the best of the best in the East for years to come.
