Analyst Says Team USA Has ‘Cause For Concern’

NBA basketball and FIBA basketball aren’t very alike.

The rules are different, the court is different, and even the basketball is different.

But more than that, the way teams approach the game is definitely different.

FIBA teams are all about fundamentals, team defense, and ball movement, as opposed to the ISO-heavy and show-driven NBA basketball.

That’s why basketball analyst John Fanta believes there are reasons for concern about Team USA.

Talking on The Carton Show, Fanta argued that Team USA looks disjointed at times, stating that they don’t truly play team basketball.

“There is cause for concern.”

Per Fanta, that could pose an issue against FIBA teams.

It takes much more than just talent to win the gold medal, and Team USA should’ve known that by now.

Steve Kerr has drawn criticism for failing to maximize the talent at his disposal, as it has seemed as if he just expected them to overpower their opposition.

Team USA survived a major scare after barely beating South Sudan.

That’s despite being 43.5-point favorites ahead of tip-off.

It was nice to see that they could respond when put to the test and challenged, but they shouldn’t have even been in that position to begin with.

When locked in, this team could beat anybody on Earth by a significant margin.

Now, the only question left to answer will be whether they want it enough to be as locked in as they have to be.
