Jalen Wilson of the Brooklyn Nets made a huge impression on the league during this year’s NBA Summer League.

He made such an impression, in fact, that he was named the Summer League MVP.

Speaking to ESPN, per Erik Slater, Wilson opened up about the honor and how his game improved during his second year in the Summer League.

“This year, I think it slowed down and the work [I put in] was able to show,” Wilson said.

Wilson did amazing things during the 2024 Summer League, averaging 21.8 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 47% from the field and a wild 55% from the three-point line.

His best game came last Friday when he scored 33 points and 10 rebounds over the Orlando Magic.

At the end of that game, Wilson shot a game-sealing bucket in overtime.

During his rookie season, Wilson recorded 5 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist for the Nets but he could be doing a lot more in the upcoming year.

After this impressive run in the Summer League, Brooklyn might turn to Wilson more often.

The team has been undergoing some changes recently, including the loss of Mikal Bridges.

They are entering a rebuilding phase and may want to put young up-and-comers like Wilson on the court a lot more often.

Even though his rookie season was somewhat quiet, his second appearance in the Summer League was not and Wilson showed that he’s someone who can be trusted with the ball.

He earned Summer League MVP but now it’s time to see if the Nets will rely on him more in the regular season.
