There is no way to deny that Alex Sarr’s performance during this year’s Summer League was alarming.

The No. 2 pick in the draft did not set the scoreboard on fire for the Washington Wizards and some people are very concerned.

According to NBACentral, Sarr scored just 9-of-47 field goals during his Summer League stint and had a true shooting percentage of 22.6%.

Additionally, his PER was only 3.8, which is the worst of any first-rounder at the Summer League, according to John Hollinger.

These stats had a lot of people talking online and most fans said that Sarr has a long way to go to prove himself.

One fan simply tweeted, “Yikes,” which is a single word that says it all.

Because he was the No. 2 pick in the draft, people expected huge things from Sarr.

So far, he hasn’t delivered at all, although his defensive game has been impressive.

Yikes.

Some people were already referring to Sarr as an “all time bust” even though he hasn’t participated in a regular season game.

Others said the Atlanta Hawks dodged a bullet by not picking Sarr in the draft.

Finally, some people urged fans to be patient and reminded that the Summer League doesn’t mean a lot in the grand scheme of things.

Wizards fans should only be concerned when the regular season kicks off.

Of course, because of his time in the Summer League, Sarr might not get a lot of chances to prove himself in the months ahead.

The Wizards could be worried about relying on Sarr due to how poorly he has played.

At the same time, they are in bad shape so they don’t have many options, meaning that Sarr will probably get a second chance to impress in a few months when the 2024-25 season begins.
