Just like many people expected, Paul George left the Los Angeles Clippers for the Philadelphia 76ers a few weeks ago and is ready to get to work when the new season begins in the fall.

Speaking to Sam DiGiovanni and the press, George spoke about coming to Philadelphia.

He surprised some people by saying it was “inevitable” that he and Joel Embiid would play together.

Revealing that Embiid has “secretly been one of my closest All-Star Game friends,” George said that he’s very excited to play alongside him and start a new chapter of his career in Philadelphia.

There were rumors about George coming to the 76ers long before any official paperwork was signed.

Many NBA analysts predicted that George would leave the Clippers but it wasn’t entirely obvious where he would go.

The 76ers were the perfect team for him because of the salary they could offer, their insistence on adding a third piece to work alongside Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, and their standing in the Eastern Conference.

Although everyone knew that George and Embiid were friendly during All-Star appearances, people weren’t aware that they were so close.

They already have a close friendship, which will definitely help the 76ers in the seasons ahead.

Chemistry is important but so is health and, sadly, both Embiid and George have a rough track record when it comes to injuries.

Therefore, fans are still nervous about what’s ahead for the Sixers even with George on board.

George is happy to be there and he is excited to be with his old friend but that doesn’t guarantee success for Philadelphia.
