The Cleveland Browns and Amari Cooper were in a bit of a contract standoff this offseason.

After seeing the likes of Justin Jefferson, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and even a new teammate of his in Jerry Jeudy all get paid this offseason, Cooper wanted more money from the Browns.

Now, he has it.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Cooper is getting a $5 million raise while the Browns are also guaranteeing him the remaining $20 million left on his contract.

“Cooper will still be entering the final year of his deal,” Schefter recently made sure to point out on social media.

The offense is built for him to hit those incentives. Fair deal.

Cooper has been one of the more underrated wide receivers in the league during his career.

Now entering his 10th year in the league, the five-time Pro-Bowler has eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving six times.

He is coming off his best season from a statistical perspective (1,250 receiving yards, 17.4 YPR).

The former Alabama star is perhaps the most important player on Cleveland’s offense outside of Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson is a very important player, but Cooper proved last season that he could be an elite player without him when veteran Joe Flacco came in and helped guide this team to the playoffs.

Look for the 30-year-old to possibly have another solid season in what is still a contract year, as Schefter noted.

If he puts up similar numbers, the Browns may look to sign him to a new contract next offseason.
