The Indiana Pacers are coming off a somewhat surprising season.

While some thought they were overachievers and benefitted from the plethora of injuries in the Eastern Conference playoffs, they played significantly better than expected, also making it to the In-Season Tournament final.

They have one of the youngest rosters in the league.

That’s why it only makes sense that they look to keep their talented players around for a little longer.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, they signed Canadian guard Andrew Nembhard to a three-year contract extension worth $59 million.

Per the report, that was the maximum amount of money allowable over that term for him.

Nembhard’s role went up as the season progressed, and he was one of their key players during the playoffs.

He can play on and off the ball, knock down shots from all three levels, and even showed to be a much better perimeter defender than expected.

The Pacers entered the offseason with keeping Pascal Siakam around as their No. 1 priority, and it didn’t take long before they put pen to paper.

Their core of Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and Siakam, and the return of Bennedict Mathurin could make them a very dangerous team for years to come.

Now, they have to prove that last season’s success wasn’t a fluke.

Their up-tempo and fast-paced offense had opposing teams dizzy and gasping for air, and while their defense still needs plenty of work, this could be a very fun team to watch for years to come.
