The Tampa Bay Buccaneers spent some big bucks in the offseason, but they might not be done paying up.
Star LT Tristan Wirfs also wants to get a new deal.
He didn’t show up for the team’s voluntary organized team activities, and he was rumored to hold out for mandatory training camp as well.
Nonetheless, that wasn’t the case, and HC Todd Bowles was loving it.
Talking to the media, Bowles claimed that he wasn’t surprised to see Wirfs in attendance, as he loves the game of football and he knows he wants to be there (via Rick Stroud).

The three-time Pro Bowler has been looking for a new deal for months now, but to no avail.
He’s entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract, and he’s about to make a fully guaranteed salary worth over $18.2 million.
GM Jason Licht has been vocal about the team’s desire to keep him around for the long run, as they view him as their left tackle of the future.
The Bucs already spent a lot to get Antoine Winfield Jr, Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, and Lavonte David signed to new deals.
Wirfs isn’t following the latest league-wide trend of not showing up to work in hopes of getting a significant pay raise, and that speaks volumes about his good faith and willingness to find some common ground with the team.
Hopefully, that will translate into the deal he deserves and is currently looking for, as the Bucs need someone to keep Mayfield safe and sound after being quite banged up last season.
