CeeDee Lamb is the Dallas Cowboys’ best offensive player, plain and simple.

He was the second-best — and arguably the best — wide receiver in the league last season, and he should be paid as such.

He’s entering the final year of his contract and has seen other players on similar tiers get paid with significant contract extensions, so it only makes sense that he demands the same from his team.

That’s why fellow former WR Keyshawn Johnson understands why he’s holding out of training camp.

What he doesn’t understand, however, is the Cowboys’ approach.

Talking on Undisputed, the former No. 1 pick called out Stephen and Jerry Jones for the way they’ve mishandled Lamb’s contract situation.

He understands that Lamb wants no part of training camp after watching similar players make almost twice as much as he’s about to make next season.

On the one hand, Lamb is still slated to make $17 million to play football, and that’s a contract he willingly agreed to sign up for.

On the other, that’s just the way business is conducted in sports, and especially in the NFL.

If one didn’t know better, people might even think that the Cowboys are purposely setting their team up for failure, for whatever reason.

The way they’ve mismanaged contract situations recently would’ve gotten any person non related to the team’s owner fired years ago, and that’s why it’s so dangerous to have the owner making all personnel-related decisions.

It’s not a coincidence that they haven’t been to the Super Bowl in over two decades.
