The New York Jets have a Super Bowl-caliber roster.

At this point, it seems like the only reason why some people still have doubts about their Super Bowl chances is because, well, they’re the Jets.

They were pretty good on paper last season as well, yet in a cruel move of fate, Aaron Rodgers was only able to play for four snaps before suffering a season-ending injury.

We’ve reached a point in which even when they do things right, something seems to stand in their way of success.

However, at least personnel-wise, this is a Super Bowl-caliber team.

That’s why sports analyst Pat Costello claimed that he wouldn’t be shocked if the Jets were to win the Vince Lombardi trophy this season.

“I’m not gonna be shocked at all if this is a team holding the Lombardi trophy at the end of the year,” Costello said.

Debating on ESPN Radio’s UNSPORTSMANLIKE, Chris Canty doubted their chances of winning it all, calling out Aaron Rodgers over his final game with the Green Bay Packers and stating that he hasn’t played in a full year.

While that might be the case, it’s just impossible to count out a multi-time MVP, future first-ballot Hall of Famer, and arguably the most talented pure passer in football history.

For the first time in years, Rodgers will have a championship-caliber defense.

The Jets also revamped their offensive line, and Rodgers will have multiple playmakers on offense at his disposal.

From a football perspective, even if he’s up in age, there’s not a simple argument to make a valid case about him not making this team a Super Bowl candidate.
