Haason Reddick has put the New York Jets in a tough spot.

A recent report points out that the Philadelphia Eagles allowed the Jets to negotiate a new contract with him prior to trading for him.

He didn’t care for the Jets’ offer, but the team reportedly agreed to bump up its offer based on his performance this season.

The 29-year-old reportedly accepted those terms, which eventually led the Jets to trade for him.

Now, he’s failed to abide by his word, and the Jets might not be happy at all.

He’s already missed training camp so far, so the team had no choice but to place him on the reserve/did not report list.

According to Ari Meirov, he’s now going to be subject to $50K fines for each day of his holdout.

Haason Reddick will be fined $50,000 for every day of camp he misses. These fines, since Reddick is on a veteran contract, are not forgivable. https://t.co/KHhJqnLWef

The Jets and Reddick had reportedly reached a verbal agreement, and this is just no way to do business.

The team has remained open to working out a deal but they want him to show up first.

On the other hand, he claimed he’s not going to show up until he gets a new contract.

NFL teams will have to take a stance and work as a unit to put an end to this holdout practice once and for all.

The players agree to sign these contracts and are making life-changing money to play football, so they should at least show up and do their jobs while they try to get a raise, just like everybody else on Earth.
