Carmelo Anthony is regarded as a New York Knicks legend because of his impressive time with the team.
He had many great moments in Madison Square Garden while playing for the Knicks but his 62-point game against the Charlotte Bobcats is still considered one of the best.
Speaking with Paul George on the “Podcast P” show, Anthony spoke about that explosive, historic night.
He said the Knicks were in bad shape at the time, fans were embarrassed to root for them, and he had been motivated recently by someone who worked with the team.
Anthony was on a mission and said his game was a “‘f–k you’ 62.”

Anthony really was on fire during that game, scoring 62 points and 13 rebounds in 39 minutes for his Knicks.
He shot a wild 65.7% from the field and sank 6 of his 11 three-point attempts.
It was a highlight of his career and reminded Knicks fans of how special he was.
The team was definitely not doing well at that point and they ended the season as the ninth team in the East with a lacking 37-45 record.
Even though the season was a disappointment, Anthony was not and averaged 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
It was easily one of his best seasons and his match against the Bobcats was easily one of his best games.
Anthony would spend a few more years with the Knicks before traveling to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and finally the Los Angeles Lakers.
All these years later, his 62-point game against Charlotte is still considered a historic and special Knicks moment.
