It looks like TNT’s time with the NBA is coming to an end.
After intense negotiations, the league decided to choose a new media rights deal with Amazon over TNT, meaning the very popular “Inside the NBA” will come to a close at the end of next season.
This news has sent shockwaves through the league and fans of basketball are reeling.
“Inside” co-host Charles Barkley released a statement about the NBA’s decision, which was shared by Evan Sidery on Twitter.
In the statement, Barkley said, “It’s a sad day when owners and commissioners choose money over the fans. It just sucks.”
He claimed that the league wished to “break up” with TNT “from the beginning” because they wanted a long-term partnership with tech companies like Amazon that would be paying even more in the future.

Barkley thinks that the league hopes to develop close ties with Amazon and other companies that will agree to even more expensive contracts down the road.
So instead of remaining with TNT, Adam Silver and his team chose to make a new media rights deal that favored the future.
Barkley made sure to thank the hard-working people who have made “Inside the NBA” possible.
He also promised fans that the show was “going to give you everything we have next season.”
Barkley previously said that next season would be his last and he will retire from analysis after that.
Losing this show and the team behind it will be a major blow for all NBA fans but it’s very likely the hosts will be back in one way or another.
