The Carolina Panthers haven’t made the playoffs since the 2017 season.

They have struggled to gain traction since Cam Newton left, despite their best efforts.

Having a solid quarterback is paramount for success in this league, something that the Panthers haven’t experienced for some time.

They did take Bryce Young with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, hoping he could help turn things around.

The jury is still out on Young, but even if he is the quarterback the Panthers expect, he still needs pieces on offense to throw to.

Yes, the team has added some players, like Adam Thielen last year, Diontae Johnson in this year’s free agency, and Xavier Legette in this year’s draft, but they need a true No. 1 receiver to help get this offense going.

Former Panthers player Thomas Davis recently made a case for the Panthers to acquire Brandon Aiyuk, who is in the midst of contract drama with the San Francisco 49ers.

As he recently said on Cam Newton’s 4th and 1 Podcast, “I would look into making an investment into bringing Brandon Aiyuk in. I feel like, offensively, you can never have too many weapons.”

Davis is under the impression that the Panthers have added some solid players already, but Aiyuk could bring them to the next level.

Making the playoffs would be a huge deal for the Panthers in 2024, but if they struggle again this season, the organization might be forced to make some major changes moving forward.
