On Friday, it was announced that the Miami Dolphins decided to make superstar quarterback Tau Tagovailoa a wealthy man, with the team inking him to a four-year deal worth $212, which puts him in the highest-paid conversation with fellow superstars Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow.
With Tagovailoa finally securing a lucrative long-term deal, the attention turns to the Green Bay Packers and what the team intends to do with up-and-comer Jordan Love, who is also deserving of a new deal, even though he only became a starter last season.
Love didn’t have the traditional start to his career as a starter in Green Bay, as he had to wait his turn the same way Aaron Rodgers did with Brett Favre ahead of him in Wisconsin.
Fortunately for Love, much like Rodgers, when he got his shot to start, he took full advantage of the situation and proved to Green Bay and the rest of the NFL what he could do when he became the face of the storied franchise.
Now the Packers brass are on the clock in terms of locking up Love to a new deal for the foreseeable future, and Adam Schefter of ESPN believes that as a result of Tagovailoa’s new contract with the Dolphins, the young quarterback will become the “richest player” in the franchise’s history via NFL on ESPN.

With Tagovailoa only just agreeing to a new deal on Friday, it’ll be interesting to see if the Packers are highly motivated to close the deal as soon as possible or if they’ll take their time during this negotiation process.
Green Bay will be under some pressure from here on out, as they won’t want to make their new star quarterback unhappy or underappreciated before the 2024 NFL season begins in September.
