The Phoenix Suns assembled a superteam of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal under new governor Mat Ishbia, but the team flamed out spectacularly in their first year together.
The Suns looked like a title team on paper, but lost in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs, leaving a sour taste in the organization’s mouth.
With Booker, Durant and Beal on their roster, Phoenix has the potential to be one of the most explosive offenses in the league but the lack of depth on the roster was apparent last year.
However, the Suns made a major change on the sidelines when they fired Frank Vogel and hired Mike Budenholzer to become their new head coach.
The team has also made some marginal upgrades to the roster, though they shouldn’t be done adding more talent and depth.
With that in mind, it seems that Phoenix has their eyes on free agent point guard Tyus Jones via John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix.
“The Suns are interested in signing Tyus Jones,” Gambadoro reported.
The Suns are interested in signing Tyus Jones, per @Gambo987.

Jones spent last season with the Washington Wizards and had a great year that went under the radar because of their lack of success.
However, Jones is the exact kind of point guard that the Suns need to keep them organized and put their stars in the best positions to score.
Getting a player like Jones on the veteran’s minimum could go a long way toward winning a title, though as of now no signing seems imminent.
Other contenders will be monitoring the situation, though Phoenix surely hopes they can ultimately win Jones’ services.
