Team USA has more than enough NBA talent on its roster to get past every single team on Earth.
However, even good things can get better, and judging by the way they performed in their exhibition games, Team USA could definitely use a bit of a boost.
That’s why it’s such great news to know that help is on the way.
According to a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has officially been cleared to play.

Durant missed exhibition games and some practices with a calf injury, but he could now make his debut with the rest of the team when Team USA faces Serbia.
Durant is up in age and has struggled with major injuries over the past couple of years, which is why it made sense that Team USA wanted to err on the side of caution and make sure he didn’t suffer any further injury.
Calf injuries are tricky, and some have even led to Achilles injuries, and that’s something Durant simply cannot afford to go through at this point in his career, not again.
He’s not likely to be a starter and the team will most likely keep a close eye on his minutes, at least in the early stages of the tournament.
Fortunately, his team has plenty of options to choose from and guys who could step up on any given night.
He must make sure to stay healthy for the upcoming season, especially with all the expectations about the Phoenix Suns.
