The Miami Dolphins have their quarterback locked in for the future.
Tua Tagovailoa has officially signed one of the most lucrative contract extensions in NFL history, and the fans are loving every single second of it.
At least, that’s how it seemed when the Alabama product addressed the crowd and had them all hyped up when he arrived at training camp (via FinsXtra).

There has been a lot of talk about whether Tagovailoa is the right guy to lead the team to their first playoff win in decades, let alone a Super Bowl.
Even so, the team has always been quite high on him, and even though it took them a while before they were able to strike a deal, they always showed a willingness and belief in his leadership and his skills.
Number-wise, there’s not much not to like about Tagovailoa’s performances since Mike McDaniel arrived in South Beach.
The eye test, however, might not be as optimistic.
Still, if the Dolphins already locked in Jaylen Waddle for the future, and given Tua’s relationship and on-field chemistry with Tyreek Hill, it only made sense to get pen to paper at this moment.
Whether he should be making the kind of money he is at this moment is not for debate, and two years from now, his contract will most likely look like a bargain.
That’s just the current state of the quarterback market, and the Dolphins needed to spend big bucks if they truly thought he was the right guy for the job.
