The New England Patriots were tied for the second-worst record in the NFL last season at 4-13 and are looking for all the help they can get heading into the 2024 season with a new head coach and a new quarterback room leading the charge into this new era of Pats football.

Training camp has just gotten started and teams are looking for fresh bodies anywhere they can find them to fill out the roster, and the Pats have reportedly added one to help beef up the defensive line.

The Patriots’ official X account announced that the team has signed defensive tackle Josiah Bronson.

Bronson spent this past season playing in the UFL for the Memphis Showboats where he had 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks in ten games.

He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2021 with the New Orleans Saints and has also spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys, and Miami Dolphins while seeing action on the official 53-man roster for the Saints, Browns, and Dolphins.

Bronson is 27 years old and stands at 6’3″ and 310 pounds, and the former University of Washington standout will have his work cut out for him to make this roster.

Davon Godchaux and Christian Barmore sit atop the depth chart at DT with Daniel Ekuale, Trysten Hill, Jeremiah Pharms, and Sam Roberts all returning from last year as well.

Armon Watts was also signed in free agency, so there are a lot of bodies for Bronson to compete with if he plans on snagging a roster spot from somebody.
