The Los Angeles Lakers may not have made any meaningful additions to their roster this summer yet, but they’re at least seeing just how well LeBron James looks when he’s got help on the floor.
James has been arguably the best player for Team USA through six games, and it’s an outlandish thought considering he’s 39 years old and heading into his 22nd NBA season.
Through the five exhibition games, James looked more like the facilitator of the team and scored when he needed to in crunch time.
However, he took it upon himself to jumpstart Team USA’s offense against Serbia as he looked for his shot more to begin the game.
James even had several highlight-reel dunks, including a breakaway one that led to an iconic photo.
Former Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade was on the broadcast calling his friend’s game and later reacted to his strong performance via his personal Twitter account.
“Y’all know the pronouns: HE/HIM” Wade tweeted.

Wade used the pronoun line several times during the broadcast, referencing the popular phrase “I’m him!” that athletes have been using in recent years.
Wade knows James’ game just about as well as anyone and even he had to marvel at how well James is playing this late into his career.
While the other Team USA members will be called upon at some point to lead the team throughout the Olympics, James will be counted on ultimately to get them to the top and bring home another gold medal to the program.
