The Los Angeles Lakers are truly blessed to have LeBron James donning the purple and gold, but this summer he’s representing the red, white and blue for Team USA during the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
James may be the elder statesman on Team USA, but he’s looked as rejuvenated as ever as he’s playing hard on both ends of the floor.
James was steadily ramping up during exhibition play earlier in July, but he turned it on against Serbia in their first game of tournament pool play as he was aggressive offensively.
Kevin Durant led Team USA with 23 points off the bench, but James was right behind him with 21 points.
The Lakers star had several highlight-reel plays throughout the day, with most of them coming in transition.
However, the cameras caught an iconic photo of James after he threw down an emphatic dunk via USA Basketball’s official Twitter account.
“Waited 12 years for this. Welcome back to the Olympic Stage, LeBron James.”

As soon as James took flight, the arena exploded with excitement and the Team USA bench cheered loudly along with them.
At 39 years old, James continues to defy Father Time as there’s no player in basketball history who’s been this good for this long.
The photo may have captured the iconic pose and finish from James, but he threw down a couple more dunks that really gave Team USA the energy and momentum they needed to get over the finish line.
With James playing this well, it’s hard to imagine another country being able to threaten Team USA.
