The Portland Trail Blazers are in a clear rebuilding situation and must start seriously considering selling off their veteran pieces to accumulate more young talent and draft picks.
Portland’s got a few veterans that contenders should be interested in, though the most notable name is Jerami Grant.
Grant profiles as an ideal 3-and-D wing who can defend multiple positions and get his own shot when needed.
The Trail Blazers have been hesitant to part ways with Grant because teams aren’t willing to offer the amount of assets that they’re seeking.
It’s hard to blame Portland for waiting given they’re in no rush, though it’s somewhat surprising that teams haven’t been more aggressive either.
Up to this point it’s been unclear what exactly the Blazers are looking for but details have recently emerged via Jovan Buha of The Athletic.
“The Trail Blazers are seeking two first-round picks in any trade involving Jerami Grant,” Buha reported.

The going-rate for any sort of wing player like Grant appears to be two first-round picks and it sounds like Portland will wait until somewhat meets that price.
What makes it difficult, though, is Grant is owed a lot of money over the next few years and teams might be scared off to pay that much for someone who profiles as perhaps the fourth-best player on a title team.
However, there aren’t too many players like Grant that are available around the league so it’s only a matter of time until he is moved to a contender going all-in on a title.
