After making some bold moves in the 2023 NFL Draft to bring in quarterback CJ Stroud and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. with consecutive picks at No. 2 and No. 3 overall, the Houston Texans seemed to be taking an aggressive approach to rebuilding quickly and becoming a force to be reckoned with in the AFC sooner rather than later.
Fortunately for Houston, the gamble paid off in the draft, as the team now has a legitimate superstar under center with Stroud and hit a home run with their new head coach, DeMeco Ryans, who turned into one of the best coaches in the league in 2023.
With the Texans winning the AFC South division and pulling off the upset over the Cleveland Browns in the first round, the Texans have arrived as this team is, without a doubt, a franchise back on the rise.
One of the reasons for the team’s success, especially when it comes to Stroud becoming a superstar last season, is the presence of left tackle Laremy Tunsil up front protecting the new face of the franchise.
With training camp underway for the Texans, offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik recently talked about how good Tunsil is on the Green Light podcast, as he believes he’s the best pass-blocking tackle in the NFL right now via Houston Stressans.

Although star quarterbacks in the league tend to get all the credit when a team succeeds, it all starts with the players protecting them and giving them time to be successful in the pocket, which Tunsil has clearly done for Stroud.
As long as Tunsil can stay healthy for Houston, the offense may continue to fire on all cylinders during the 2024 campaign, especially with the addition of superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
