Darren Waller Gets Honest About His NFL Career

Not so long ago, there was a stretch in which the Las Vegas Raiders had one of the best tight ends in the league.

Darren Waller was a force to be reckoned with, someone who had beaten his own demons and the odds to become a prominent name in the game.

Unfortunately for him, his prime was slightly short-lived.

He was a bit of a late bloomer, and injuries, subpar coaching, and some issues off the field eventually paved the way for his early retirement.

However, he has no regrets.

Talking to his former teammate, Maxx Crosby, Waller admitted that he was glad about the fact that he never took the game for granted (via The Rush Podcast).

He talked about how he made the most of his playing days, adding that he knew that his level of production, pace, and overall presence made the game better while he was able to be out there.

Waller had to fight plenty of demons on his way to the mountaintop, and eventually, his body just couldn’t keep up, and he wasn’t having a good time out there, either.

His numbers could’ve been better, but it’s never easy to find success in the league, and at least he can feel like he was a legitimate top-five player in his position during his prime.
