The San Francisco 49ers have a lot on their plates right now.
Star WR Brandon Aiyuk has shown up to training camp but hasn’t actually practiced, and he’s made it loud and clear that he wants to be traded if he doesn’t get a new contract.
Unfortunately for them, he’s not the only disgruntled star looking to catch GM John Lynch’s attention at the moment.
Star LT Trent Williams has skipped every day of training camp, and he’s currently looking to get a better contract.
Needless to say, that should be of the utmost importance for the Niners right now, as they just can’t afford to lose him.
At least, that’s how former NFL coach Gregg Williams feels.
Talking on his Come Get Some podcast, he claimed that Williams was the best left tackle in the game, so the Niners need to get this situation sorted out.

Williams’ holdout was made official on Thursday.
The Niners had no choice but to place him on the reserve/did not report list, which means he’ll now be subject to fines for each day of training camp that he misses.
The 36-year-old is under contract through the 2026 season.
He got a very lucrative six-year extension worth $136 million back following his trade to the 49ers from Washington.
But now that other offensive tackles are making more money than him, he’s jumped on board with this new trend of players letting their egos dictate their market.
It’s not about honoring the contract they signed — which happens to be for tens of millions — as much as it is about making more than the next guy at this point.
