Patriots Worked Out 5 Players Monday

After an ugly 2023 NFL season in which the New England Patriots won only four games and missed the NFL playoffs, the team decided to make some drastic changes from the coaching staff down to who will be running the show under center for the foreseeable future.

These changes resulted in the firing of legendary head coach Bill Belichick, whom they replaced shortly after with former player Jerod Mayo, and the trading of former first-round draft pick Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Those two moves alone showed that the team was willing to start from scratch and that no one was safe in New England moving forward as the storied franchise is clearly now in a rebuilding phase, which could take years for the squad to get back to playoff contention in the AFC.

Fortunately, the Patriots were able to secure a potential franchise quarterback with the team bringing in Drake Maye out of North Carolina, who could be a Week 1 starter if he beats out veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett in training camp.

Along with the ongoing quarterback battle in New England, the team has continued to make moves, with the Patriots hosting five players for workouts, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.

New England brought in Quavian White, Colby Richardson, Tiawan Mullen, Delonte Hood and Trajan Bandy for a look this week, but none of these players are potential game-changers for the Patriots.

The 2024 campaign will be interesting for the Patriots, to say the least, as no one really knows what to expect from this team that has chosen to start over.
