Despite having a very talented roster, one NFL team seems to be in a holding pattern right now.
The Dallas Cowboys have arguably their three biggest stars — pass rusher Micah Parsons, wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and quarterback Dak Prescott — due for big contract extensions, and they made meager moves this offseason in free agency.
Many people around the NFL feel the Cowboys have had an awful offseason as a result, and NFL insider Jordan Schultz echoed that sentiment on Fox Sports 1’s “Speak” while even making a bold claim about the franchise’s attitude toward free agency.
“Dallas looks at free agency like a burden, not an opportunity,” said Schultz.

This offseason, the one significant move Dallas made was to sign linebacker Eric Kendricks, a one-time Pro Bowler who is 32 years of age and may not have a lot left in his tank.
Perhaps their biggest weakness right now is the running back position, and after losing starter Tony Pollard in free agency, they brought back an old favorite in Ezekiel Elliott, who is well past his prime.
They also saw other significant contributors in defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr., offensive tackle Tyron Smith and defensive coordinator Dan Quinn leave this offseason.
While Lamb is reportedly closing in on a huge contract extension, Prescott is another story, and it is hard to tell right now whether he could end up getting a big bag himself or if he’s on his way to becoming a free agent next offseason.
If Prescott does leave the Cowboys, they could fall into irrelevancy right away.
