Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has plenty of pressure on him as a Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 overall pick tasked with transforming an offense that has been largely inept and outdated throughout much of the franchise’s history.
One former Super Bowl champion believes Williams is up to the challenge and recently praised the rookie for the leadership he has already shown.
On a recent episode of “Undisputed,” Keyshawn Johnson had strong words in support of Williams.
“His focus and attention to detail is everything,” Johnson said. “It shows a form of leadership.”

Johnson, a former No. 1 overall pick himself, added that it’s impressive that Williams isn’t simply focusing on the fact he’s a No. 1 pick and is paying attention to all the small details, recently pointing out to his teammates that they were getting a little too sloppy both on and off the field, going as far as to make sure they keep the sidelines tidy to create less work for assistants who have to clean up trash after practice.
Williams possesses a skill set unlike any Bears fans have seen from a QB, and the front office helped him out by having a big offseason that saw them acquire wide receiver Keenan Allen, draft standout receiver Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick, sign D’Andre Swift to start at running back, and extend receiver D.J. Moore to keep him in town for years to come.
It’s quite a group that Williams will be asked to lead, but so far he appears up to the challenge.
