The New England Patriots have spent this offseason using a large portion of their salary cap space taking care of their own, giving out contract extensions to Davon Godchaux, Jabrill Peppers, Christian Barmore, Rhamondre Stevenson, Kyle Dugger, Mike Onwenu, Hunter Henry, Kendrick Bourne, Jahlani Tavai and Anfernee Jennings.
However, one of the team’s best players recently fired back on social media at reports of him receiving a contract offer of his own, and the Pro Bowler doesn’t sound pleased.
According to The Athletic’s Diana Russini, the Patriots reportedly made edge rusher Matthew Judon a new contract offer in the wake of Judon’s missed practices and heated discussions with coaches and front office members.
Judon quickly refuted that report by replying on X, “No they haven’t but it makes me look bad again. Don’t believe the lies.”

The 31-year-old Judon missed extended time for the first time in his career last season with a torn biceps that limited him to four games.
Despite the injury, Judon hasn’t been shy about pushing for a contract extension this offseason as he heads into the last year of his contract.
With so many of his teammates being taken care of, it’s reasonable for Judon to expect a deal of his own, especially after putting up 32 sacks in 38 games over his three years with the franchise so far.
Judon is currently holding out in hopes of receiving an offer, but if incorrect reports are coming from reputable sources such as Russini, this situation might be messier than fans once thought.
