The New York Jets will give their Aaron Rodgers experiment another try this season, and just like last season, they will begin their schedule with a “Monday Night Football” game in Week 1.
Last year, Week 1 took place at home in North Jersey, but this time around, they will face the San Francisco 49ers in California.
Niners Pro Bowl cornerback Charvarius Ward said if he intercepts a pass thrown by Rodgers, he will want the legend to sign the football, and Rodgers said on “Up & Adams” that he just may honor that request.
“You know what, I’d probably do it,” Rodgers said. “If I was like a fifth- or sixth-year player, I’d probably say, ‘Get the [heck] outta here.’ But now, in my old age and maturity, maybe I’d sign it for him.”
If Charvarious Ward picks off Aaron Rodgers Week 1… would Rodgers actually sign the intercepted ball for him?? @itslilmooney @AaronRodgers12 @heykayadams https://t.co/CzHec8gcFp pic.twitter.com/s5JpD1wPd6

Ward will present a challenge for Rodgers and New York, as he led the NFL with 23 passes defended last year and won a Super Bowl championship with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2019 season.
Rodgers, of course, tore his Achilles on New York’s first offensive series of the 2023 campaign, effectively torpedoing what looked like a very promising season for them.
He has apparently made a full recovery, but with all the wear and tear he has endured, some are skeptical he will still be able to take the Jets very far.
On the other hand, he does have lots of talent around him.
He will be throwing the football to wide receivers Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams, and running back Breece Hall, one of the brightest young players at his position, should be able to take some pressure off the QB.
The Jets defense boasts multiple Pro Bowlers, and if they are to do something special this year, they will have to lean on that unit, especially if Rodgers isn’t able to play at an MVP level anymore.
