The San Francisco 49ers made it to the Super Bowl in 2023 but ended up losing the big game to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Kansas City is starting to build a dynasty, but the 49ers hung with them for most of the game, an indication that their roster is good enough to compete with them moving forward.
With that in mind, one might assume that if the 49ers kept their team mostly intact, they would have a great chance of making it back to the big game.
However, in the NFL, no matter how good a team is, there always seems to be some turnover.
After making a few moves, the 49ers decided they were in the market for a wide receiver, and selected Ricky Pearsall in the first round of this year’s draft.
This was a confusing move to some, especially considering that the 49ers already had superstar talent on offense, as Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel remained on the roster.
You can never have too much depth in this league, and judging by recent videos of Pearsall in camp, this might have been a great move by the 49ers.
Coach Yac recently highlighted a one-handed catch from Pearsall on Twitter, just one example of what he’s able to do.

Similarly to the Chiefs, the 49ers are hoping to build something special.
With any luck, Pearsall will be a part of their long-term plans, especially if Aiyuk’s future with the team is murky at the moment.
